The season 2 of the Amazon-series “The Family Man” has been delayed, informed film-makers Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK on 5th February 2020. On the Instagram statement, they said, “We know you have been eagerly waiting for the new season of ‘The Family Man.’ We are truly grateful and humbled by all the love”. Further, they added that the new season would be premiering on Amazon Prime Video in the “summer” 2021.

Earlier, it was revealed that the next season of the spy drama would release on February 12, 2021. A source close to PTI stated that the decision was taken considering the controversies around Amazon prime video shows, Tandav and Mirzapur. Though season 2 of The Family Man doesn’t have any content that would hurt the sentiments of anybody, the current situation of the controversies may overshadow the show to be released.

Several complaints have been filed against shows Tandav and Mirzapur for hurting religious sentiments, creating a pool of troubles for Amazon Prime India. Further, the Supreme Court declined to provide interim protection to the related actors, directors, and producers of the controversial shows. Thus, due to the ongoing controversies of OTT platforms in India, The Family Man makers have not released the trailer of the drama and pushed its premiere date as well.

It is to be informed that The Family Man season one, which premiered on 20 September 2019, revolved around an intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee). Actors Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Sharib Hashmi, and Shreya Dhanwanthary played prominent roles in season one. In the second season, the south actress Samantha Akkineni will be making her digital debut.
